Love at 30 Feet

Encouragement cracks like a whip able to persuade even the most stubborn and fearful.
It pushes one forward and beckons that they hold nothing back.
It makes one more step seem like an attainable goal.
And it is, if we are able to silence but even for a moment,
these pesky and often irrational fears.

With students harnessed 30 feet in the air, I saw the beauty of encouragement in action.
The beauty of a community set on having all its members succeed in pushing boundaries.

With those on the ground steadying these logs, I saw the sacrifice it is to love one another.
The sacrifice of having your hands rubbed raw by the ropes you worked so hard to steady.

Sometimes, it takes 30 feet in the air, to really get love + community.
